Providing neuro-affirming supports
to
help parents, teachers and schools meet children’s individual needs.
I can help you to See Beyond:
Run-of-the-mill supports offered at school & through disability providers, and provide 1:1 services to meet their goals.
Homeschooling activities offered to large groups, with little personalisation.
The struggles of a dysregulated nervous system to find more peace in your life & your child’s.
Adjustments you have in place, as a teacher, that aren’t working
School strategies based on behaviourism models, and implement policy and strategy based on current neuro-science.
Services
We can raise our children and support them on our own, and, most of us probably have been for years and years.
Whether it's because no one understands our situation, we don't know where to turn or we are too overwhelmed to take action.
You don't have to do it alone anymore.
Having someone in your corner who understands parenting, and educating a child with additional needs could make a world of difference, for you, for your child or for your students.
There is no one “this is what you need to do for [insert diagnosis]” model - each child is unique. I get to know your situation & make recommendations and provide supports from there.
If you’re a school, I’m able to provide bespoke professional development to teachers & staff around neuro-affirming strategies to support your students who have additional support needs.
So, how can I help?
Educational Therapy, Communication Therapy & Tutoring sessions are 1 hour, and are offered from my home in Burpengary, Queensland.
They focus on the unique needs of your child, where I use a multi-sensory, strengths-based approach.
Ideal for parents or teachers who need more strategies and tools around supporting kids at school. My approaches are neuro-affirming and do not rely on behaviourism strategies.
SSP is a music-based intervention designed to support emotional & nervous system regulation. The program is delivered through an app you can access from the comfort of your home.
Why See Beyond?
Because our children need us to advocate for them at school and in the world, as parents.
Because our students need us to be skilled and able to meet their individual needs.
Because too many parents are at wits end and burnt out from supporting their children’s needs; and children are suffering from overwhelm and burn out themselves.
Because our systems do not, inherently, protect our children from discrimination.
Because I love to work with kids - on traditional academic subjects, holistic realms, along with play-based, imaginative scenarios.
Because I parent an neuro-diverse teen and understand the complexities children and families face at home, and at school.
Because my three tertiary degrees and experience span K - university level teaching, upskilling staff, and writing school policy.
