Skill Development
Get the 1:1 support your child needs focused on their NDIS goals
For those local to the Moreton Bay Region,
I offer 1:1 supports for kids from prep-Year 12.
My teaching background spans all standard subject areas from primary through high school ages; with a specialisation in teaching children to read using a “science of reading” approach, based on the latest in neuro-science.
I organise activities to help build capacities around life skills like language (oral and written), functional literacy & mathematics, emotional regulation and social-emotional skills.
Sessions with me are “kitchen-table” style, from my home.
Mostly importantly, I initially focus on a building a rapport of trust with my students, through hands-on & play-based learning whenever possible.
Learning and skill acquisition cannot occur until children feel a sense of safety. I aim for safety first, then we start building skills.
Sessions typically run for 60 minutes - you decide if you’d like to drop & go, or stay for the session. Time slots are currently available during school hours - ideal for homeschool or distance ed participants.
Session pricing starts at $150, depending on your child’s needs, your NDIS goals and the length of the session.
While NDIS plans do not cover education expenses, many children have Capacity Building funding that can be utilised on Skill Development.
