About Me

My journey has taken me across cities, states, and continents — from a small town in Michigan (USA) to Southeast Queensland, Australia.

Over nearly 20 years in the public education sector, I taught across K–12 and tertiary levels in physical education and special education, including time in a special school for behaviour support. With a Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education and two Master’s degrees (Educational Leadership and Special Education), I’ve worn many hats and worked in diverse environments. There is little I haven’t seen or experienced.

One thing remained constant: I could see that something wasn’t working within the system. Sometimes it was due to bureaucratic decisions; other times, a lack of awareness or training. Eventually, my thoughts and beliefs no longer aligned with “the system.” I realised I could make more impact supporting families and schools from the outside.

At See Beyond, I combine my professional knowledge with lived experience as the parent of a neurodivergent young adult, with a PDA profile. I know firsthand the toll of parenting burnout, and the relief that comes when children and families receive the neuro-affirming support they need.

Today, my work includes:

  • Functional learning support in literacy and numeracy, aligned with children’s goals.

  • Nervous system regulation supports, including the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) and Rest and Restore Protocol.

  • School support and advocacy, helping parents navigate adjustments and teachers implement inclusive strategies.

  • Professional development for educators, focusing on practical, neuro-affirming approaches in the classroom.

My approach is direct, forward-thinking, and sometimes outside the box. I may not be everyone’s cup of tea. And that’s okay. But if you’re ready for a paradigm shift in how we support children and families, I’m here to walk that path with you.

If this resonates, get in touch and let’s explore how we can work together.
