THE starting point for educators who are thought leaders & operate outside the box

My approaches for educators are based in best practices in education and neuro-science.

Most educational research takes 20 years to make it into practice in classrooms, if at all.

If you want a shortcut and start implementing these practices now, to better support your students, you’re in the right place.

Free Training

Often, we want to do better but we aren’t sure where to start. The videos below are ideal for all educators (teachers, aides, administrators, daycare providers) but may also be helpful for other clinicians looking to move outside the box of behaviourism into neuro-affirming practices.

A guide to improve the clarity of your incident reports, along with considerations around neuro-affirming language.

Bespoke Professional Development

for

Teachers & Schools

As teachers and schools, we’re often at wits ends trying to tick all the boxes and meet all the requirements we have in front of us. This leaves us little time to explore professional development options, or to upskill to meet the needs of the children at our schools.

I can help you identify what support might be most advantageous for your students, and provide bespoke professional development for a small group of teachers at your school or for your entire staff.

My focus and areas of speciality are behaviour support, using neuro-affirming strategies steeped in neuro-science; and strategies and tools to best support your students with Pathological Demand Avoidance.

When we know better, we can do better.

If you’re a teacher or a school looking to incorporate the latest strategies, including but not limited to: nervous system awareness, Polyvagal Theory, “bottom up” techniques, neuro-affirming behaviour support plans, non-restrictive tools, reach out and we can discuss possibilities and options.

All strategies, tools and information align with:

  • the Disability Standards for Education Act

  • Nationally Consistent Collection of Data

  • Disability Discrimination Act

  • Education Queensland (or your school’s) policies around restrictive practices and inclusion

  • Neuro-affirming tools and supports that look beyond the limitations of the behaviourism model

I am based in the Moreton Bay Region of Brisbane, but have capacity to travel, depending on the distance and time required. Virtual sessions are available for situations where time and distance is a barrier.
