The Parents’ Guide to Navigating School Supports

and how to utilise the legislation to ensure your child receives the support they are entitled.

Sara Hocking

is a former special education/inclusion teacher in Queensland, as well as in the US. 

Her training includes a Master's degree in special education, with work experience spanning P-12 settings. She's worked in a special school for children with behavioural needs; as well as mainstream educational settings.

Sara is well versed in the Disability Standards in Education Act, as well as best practices in special education/inclusive education settings. She has experience in the Queensland state school system where she created every type of support plan available; and liaised with Regional contacts and supports to ensure the highest level of support was in place for her students.

She believes that all children are entitled to equitable access to education & supports.
